What we handle
- Severance package reviews for a fixed fee, usually within two business days.
- Wrongful dismissal claims, from negotiation through to court.
- Employment contracts: reviewing an offer letter before you sign, especially termination and non-solicit clauses.
- Stock options and bonuses on termination, which are often the biggest number in a tech-sector package.
- Workplace harassment and human rights complaints.
- Small employers: drafting enforceable contracts and handling terminations properly the first time.
Minimum vs. reasonable notice. Ontario’s Employment Standards Act sets a floor. Unless your contract has a valid termination clause, you are usually entitled to much more under the common law, which looks at your age, role, years of service and how hard it will be to find similar work.
How a severance review works
Send us the package
Your termination letter, release, and employment contract if you have one.
We compare it to the law
We check the minimums, whether your termination clause holds up, and a realistic range of reasonable notice.
You decide
Accept, counter-offer, or let us negotiate. You get a written summary either way.
What it costs
A severance review is a fixed fee of $450 (sample) plus HST. If we negotiate for you, we can work hourly or on a partial contingency where a percentage of the increase we get you is our fee. We explain both before you choose.
