What we handle
- Wills for individuals and couples, including blended families and second marriages.
- Powers of attorney for property and for personal care, so someone you trust can act if you cannot.
- Guardianship wishes for children under 18, and trusts so they do not inherit everything at 18.
- Henson trusts that let a family member with a disability inherit without losing provincial benefits.
- Estate administration: applying for a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee (probate), paying debts and taxes, and distributing the estate.
- Estate disputes, including dependant’s support claims and challenges to a will.
Got married or separated recently? Since January 1, 2022, getting married in Ontario no longer cancels an existing will, and a separated spouse may lose rights under your will. Either way, your will may not say what you think it does.
